2026 Small Business of the Year Nomination Small Business Awards – Nomination Guidelines The Albertville Chamber of Commerce Small Business Awards recognize outstanding businesses that demonstrate business success, community involvement, and a commitment to the Albertville area. Eligibility & Selection Criteria To be eligible for consideration: The business must serve the Albertville area. The business must be a member in good standing of the Albertville Chamber of Commerce. Nominees will be evaluated based on business success, community involvement, and participation in the Chamber and/or the broader business community. Businesses that have received an award within the established previous award period are not eligible for nomination. Quality of the Nomination Matters -- These awards are not a popularity contest. Receiving multiple nominations does not increase a business’s chances of winning. Each nominee is evaluated based on the quality, completeness, and supporting information included in the nomination. A thoughtful nomination that provides specific examples of the business’s accomplishments, community impact, growth, leadership, and involvement gives the selection committee the information needed to properly evaluate the nominee. Nominations with limited information, general statements, or insufficient supporting details may not receive full consideration. Nominators are encouraged to provide specific examples and explain clearly why the business is deserving of recognition. Selection Process -- Award recipients are selected by an independent committee consisting of Chamber board members, Chamber ambassadors, and previous award recipients. Albertville Chamber of Commerce staff does not select the award winners. This process is designed to provide an impartial and consistent evaluation of all eligible nominees. Nomination Limits A maximum of three businesses will be accepted for consideration in each award category. Once three eligible nominations have been received for a category, nominations for that category will close. Additional eligible nominations received after a category has closed may be carried forward for consideration during the following year's award process. Only one complete nomination is necessary. Multiple nominations for the same business do not provide an advantage in the selection process. The Albertville Small Business of the Year will go on to represent Albertville at the State Small Business Awards presented by Alabama Chambers and the Business Council of Alabama. Give specific examples. Share the business's community involvement, customer engagement, business success, etc. The quality of the nomination matters. Minimum of 1000 characters required. Nominations must be submitted to the Albertville Chamber of Commerce by December 12, 2026. Presentation of the Small Business of the Year will be awarded at the 2025 Chamber Banquet on Thursday, February 11th, 2027 Additional Letters of Support for Nomination We highly encourage you to include additional letters of support for your nomination.
