Albertville Thanksgiving/Christmas Parade
& Downtown Open House Weekend
Downtown Albertville will be bustling with activities starting November 16th with the City of Albertville Tree Lighting Ceremony and Thanksgiving/Christmas Parade and continuing November 17th and 18th with the Albertville Christmas Open House weekend. The Albertville Chamber of Commerce will host the weekend festivities kicking off the 2023 holiday selling season with the “biggest shop small event of the year!” The Tree Lighting ceremony will start at 5:10pm Thursday, November 16th at the Rotary Park Pavilion with a performance by AHS Choir. The parade will start shortly after at 5:30pm. This year’s parade is presented by Howard Bentley Buick GMC with spotlight sponsors Aviation Service Partners (ASP), Bootleggers Pizza and Pints, Food City, GPS Powersports, Jesus Granados-State Farm, Tyson Foods, Wayne Sanderson Farms. Albertville Christmas Open House will begin at 5pm on Friday, November 17th and will continue through 2pm Saturday, November 18th. The Downtown Christmas Open House presenting sponsors are The Hornbuckle Agency- ALFA Insurance, Howard Bentley Buick GMC, Bucci and Progress Rail and the spotlight sponsors are Liberty Bank, MDA Professional Group, Santa Fe, Paragon, and Spices Smokehouse. There will be a variety of activities during the Open House. Some of the activities are: (See below for details)
- Carriage Rides: Shoppers can enjoy free carriage rides throughout the downtown area. The carriages will run 5pm-9pm Friday and 10am-2pm on Saturday. Loading and unloading for the carriages will be located at the Chamber of Commerce.
- Cookies w/Santa: Santa will be at the Historic Train Depot on Saturday, November 18th from 10am-1pm. Children will receive cookies and can give their Christmas list to Santa. Bicycle giveaway!
- AHS Choir: Carolers will perform on Saturday at different locations throughout downtown.
- La Michoacan Homemade Ice Cream: Hosting a kids sugar cone Christmas tree decorating station Friday evening 6-8pm. They will also offer Abuelita hot chocolate/sweet tamales bar for guests both days.
- Shades of Pemberley Bookstore: Mulled wine and cider will be offered on Friday for adults. Christmas story time for children Saturday November 18th (times vary). Children can enjoy dramatic readings of their favorite Christmas stories as they are joined by Pemberley Penguin.
- Hammer’s Hall: Local Joe’s will host Merry Market in Hammer’s Hall from 9am-4pm Saturday Nov. 18th.
- Local Joe’s: Featuring a hot cocoa or cider bar along with many surprises for their guests all weekend long.
- Albertville Home Bakery: Mrs. Claus will be at the bakery with her holiday cookie decorating kits on Saturday, November 18th from 10am-2pm. Children will be able to decorate their cookies and parents will be encouraged to post pictures of their children’s decorated cookies on the bakery Facebook page and tag Albertville Home Bakery.
- Kids Train: A youth-sized train will be located in the Depot parking lot from 10am-2pm.
- Busted Oak Bourbon Society: Holiday Drink Specials both Friday and Saturday. Live music Friday evening.
- Stach on East Main: Hosting their Pink Friday shopping event.
- Bucci Boutique/Bucci Beaus: providing cocoa, cookies, and Holiday Specials both days.
- Unique 4 U Design Studio: Light refreshments with special savings both days.
- The Plaid Giraffe Children’s Clothing Store will have Santa from 5-7pm Friday and offer ornament making Saturday for children 12 and under.
- The Outdoor Loft: Jingle and Mingle Friday, November 17th 5-9pm.
- JaMoka’s Coffee Co.: Hosting a hot chocolate and cider bar for their guests from 7am-2pm on Saturday, November 18th.
- Downtown Farmer’s Market: The local farmers will be open 9-2 and have a special holiday market with local jams, jellies, breads, etc. Perfect for holiday gift giving!
- Albertville Museum: hosting letters to Santa both days; 5-8 Friday, 9-2 Saturday. Children will be able to sit down to pen their letters to Santa and drop them in the North Pole Mailbox.
- Skate Sand Mountain: Grand Opening weekend for the largest ice-skating rink in North Alabama at Sand Mountain Amphitheater.
- Gordo’s Way: Will have free hot chocolate while supplies last!
- Yeimi’s Bakery: Hosting giveaways, seasonal desserts, hot chocolate, and hot drinks along with cookie decorating.
- Weather’s Furniture and Hardware: Special Holiday Savings both days.
- The Corner Loft at 75 & Main: This Airbnb is available to stay for the weekend. With a balcony view, you can stay comfy and cozy after a long day of shopping, right in the heart of Downtown Albertville.
- El Sol King Pollo: Offering Authentic Mexican dishes and serving traditional Mexican Ponche Navideno both days; Friday until 7:30, Saturday 10:30-7:30.
- CloverTween Boutique: Hosting Christmas Friendship Bracelet making.
- Cherrywood Market: Offering Special Holiday surprises to their shoppers.
- Free Holiday Gift Wrapping: The Albertville Chamber of Commerce will provide free gift-wrapping November 17th through December 21st for any purchase made locally with a valid receipt. Please provide your own box. Holiday gift wrapping sponsored by Guntersville Chevrolet.
