Job Summary
AutoCAD Drafter is responsible for producing layouts, technical, and production drawings that fully meet FSGroup Engineering standards. The position requires effective skills in AutoCAD and SolidWorks. Provide technical guidelines for different aspects of manufacturing, including bill of materials and workflow diagrams for multi-step procedures. Collaborate with engineers, sales support, sales, and other coworkers to clarify design specifications.
Responsibilities and Duties
• Generating 2D drawings or 3D models of manufacturing designs by using ACAD and/or SolidWorks software
• Calculating the dimensions and other physical components of the design to ensure the technical drawing can be produced with available equipment and resources.
• Coordinate with production to discuss the requirements necessary to complete the product and negotiate process changes where necessary.
• Creating layouts that show the workflow plan for a project, including materials, components, assembly instructions, and instructions to produce or install. 
• Improving the functionality of existing products.
• Filing production drawings and support information to use and reference in the future.
• Proficiency reading inspection measuring tools, including tape measure and calipers 
• Perform any other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Skills
• An Associate Degree with an emphasis in Drafting (a related discipline may be considered based upon relevance and/or will consider experience)
• A minimum of three years’ experience in AutoCAD and/or SolidWorks
• Proficient skills in the use of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and web browsers 
• Solid critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail; Ability to coordinate between different projects while remaining organized and solution focused; Proven ability to multi-task competing priorities while meeting deadlines
• The interpersonal skills and ability to effectively communicate and interact with customers, management, and colleagues by email, telephone, and in person 
• The ability to lift up to 50lbs. as needed, stand sit for extended periods of time, and read and interpret manuals and instructions
• Practice safety standards and willingness to use personal protective equipment (safety shoes, face-shield, gloves, etc.)
