Custodian/Groundskeeper

Job Summary
The FSG Custodian/Groundskeeper plays a critical role in maintaining the cleanliness, organization, and overall appearance of all facilities, grounds, buildings, and common areas. This position ensures a safe, orderly, and functional environment that supports daily operations across all departments and work sites.
 
Responsibilities and Duties
• On a daily basis remove all trash from all offices and grounds, both inside and outside
• Clean all restrooms and restock paper products daily.
• Clean the parts room office.
• Clean and mop all four break rooms.
• Walk the rear parking lot to pick up wood, debris, and trash.
• Clean, tidy, and organize the turns and elevations room.
• Collect all screws, nuts and bolts, and rebar from assigned buildings (M-1, M-6, Carbon Shop, and Building Materials) and place them in the parts room on designated days.
• Clean all corners and tidy up assigned buildings on a rotating weekly schedule.
• Organize all bins, tables, shelves, forklifts, and rolling carts in assigned areas.
• Clean all vending machines
• Inspect and maintain all flower beds
• Clean the front parking lot and remove all debris and trash
• Perform any other duties as assigned.
 
Qualifications and Skills
• Previous experience in janitorial, groundskeeping, or facilities maintenance preferred.
• Experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment a plus.
• Ability to follow a structured daily and weekly cleaning checklist independently.
• Strong organizational abilities and attention to detail.
• Ability to coordinate multiple tasks across different buildings and areas while remaining organized and solution-focused.
• The interpersonal skills and ability to effectively communicate and interact with management, colleagues, and visitors.
• The ability to lift up to 50 lbs. as needed, stand for extended periods of time, and operate grounds and warehouse equipment including lawn mower, forklifts, and pallet jacks.
• Practice safety standards and willingness to use personal protective equipment (safety shoes, face shield, gloves, etc.).
