Supply Chain Manager / Materials Manager
Job Summary
The Supply Chain Manager is responsible for developing business strategies to fulfill the metrics assigned by leadership. Oversee the entire supply chain process, ensuring efficient procurement, inventory management, and distribution of materials for our production needs. Maintain a system to track Department’s performance through metrics. Develop plans, objectives, and strategies to meet or exceed performance through continuous improvement projects. Maintain a Quality Control (QC) process to ensure work accuracy. Work cross departmentally with sales, production, and service to provide insights to effectively support our customers. Review project budgets and recommend staffing and equipment as needed. Ensure FSGroup’s custom food equipment manufacturing operations run smoothly and efficiently, contributing to the company's overall success and growth.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to forecast material requirements based on production schedules and sales projections
- Develop and implement strategies to optimize inventory levels, reduce costs, and improve supply chain efficiency
- Manage relationships with suppliers, negotiating contracts and ensuring timely delivery of materials
- Oversee purchasing processes, including sourcing, negotiating, and procuring materials according to specifications
- Monitor inventory levels and conduct regular audits to maintain accuracy and compliance with company policies
- Ensure the validity of methods used by Department aligns with industry standards and FSGroup systems
- Propose project and program budgets; simultaneously track budgets, employees, and schedules
- Evaluate quality, price, reliability, technical support, and availability of goods and services
- Performs any other duties as assigned.
- A bachelor’s degree with an emphasis in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration (a related discipline may be considered based upon relevance)
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience in Supply Chain Management, preferably in food manufacturing or equipment production
- Certification in supply chain management (e.g., APICS, ISM); Experience with Lean Manufacturing Principles; Knowledge of international sourcing and logistics
- Strong knowledge of inventory management systems and ERP software; Proficient skills in the use of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and web browsers
- Solid analytical and problem-solving skills, critical thinking, and attention to detail; Ability to coordinate between different projects while remaining organized and solution focused; Proven ability to multi-task competing priorities while meeting deadlines
- Proven ability to lead and manage teams effectively; Strong negotiation and interpersonal skills and ability to effectively communicate and interact with customers, leadership, and colleagues by email, telephone, and in person
- The ability to lift up to 50lbs. as needed, stand sit for extended periods of time, and read and interpret manuals and instructions
- Practice safety standards and willingness to use personal protective equipment (safety shoes, face-shield, gloves, etc.)
